Good Read

I love it when a book doesn't end like I thought it would half way through. This is the story of lost souls. Lost souls searching for something, someone, somewhere, somehow. Lorca is the daughter of a chef, a mother who we never really get to the bottom of, but we do try. Lorca is searching for some way to reach her mother, because everything else she's tried doesn't work, and decides it is through the only language her mother knows. Food. One special meal. She searches out a restaurant and a recipe and finds Victoria, an Iraqi Jewish widow who is trying to come to terms with the death of her husband and the life she made him live. The bond Lorca and Victoria form  has us cheering for them as the past and the truth comes closer and closer. And with the cheering, we hope.
