Approval Junkie by Faith Salie
Well. I’m not one for
self-help books and paused a long minute before requesting this. The tipping point was Faith Salie. We laugh with her and at her when she is a
panelist on Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me. Nor
am I interested in being told yet again that we are all just asking for and
acting out for approval rather than blame.
I broke my promise to myself to never buy nor read self help. It all depended on Faith and her sense of
humor.
Thank Goodness I took a chance! I can’t remember when I shook my head in
agreement and laughed out loud quite so much in one book. This is a collection of essays that Faith
uses to address what we DO all do. We go
against our better judgement, stretch ourselves past the comfort zone and just
can’t quite say no, all in the name of approval.
I loved this book.
