Under the Tuscan Sun by Frances Mayes
It’s hard to believe it’s been 20 years since Frances Mayes wrote Under the Tuscan Sun, took us to Italy and introduced us to a
new genre. Now the 20th
anniversary edition is published and this is just the time to introduce a new
generation to wishing on a star for a life like the one Frances Mayes made for
herself. And she admits in the afterword that yes, this life is just as wonderful as she says it is. With her we laugh, dream, eat,
and become one with a whole new community.
Buy a new copy, this one with a new afterword from the author, and tuck
it into the stocking of someone who needs it this coming winter when it’s cold and snowy. Cozying up with this one will warm someone’s
soul and tummy if they are so inclined to unwrap from the blanket and fix one
of the recipes.
This was one of the books that drew me to try more nonfiction--loved it :) I think I read one from the store--maybe I'll buy one now!
